Like many, we received our new bus pass shortly after April 1st 2008. This, we knew, enabled us to travel throughout England for no cost as long as we stuck to the rules.
A quick search on the Internet, a quick Google, produced no substantial information apart from that issued by many local authorities throughout the country. Hence "Bus Pass Heaven" which will now be your one-stop shop for anything and everything to do with the new style bus passes. Bus scheme 'may cause jobs cuts' |

A Derbyshire MP has warned some councils may be forced to cut jobs because the government's free bus fares policy has not been funded properly.
Liberal Democrat MP for Chesterfield Paul Holmes has written to the prime minister and Transport Minister Paul Clark to highlight the shortfall.
Derby City Council faces a bill of £1.5m to cover the cost of the scheme. Read Full Article |

Park and ride scheme goes green |

The park and ride scheme in Durham is to become cleaner and greener, councillors have announced.
From early January, the buses will trial new technology aimed at reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions, as well as making them quieter.
The county council is supporting the Advanced Thermal Management System fuel efficiency project, developed by Comesys Europe Ltd of Cramlington.

Tube and bus fares increase by 6% |

The cost of travel on London's transport network is set to rise by an an average of 6%.
The increases, effective on 2 January, were announced by Mayor Boris Johnson in September and include a 10p rise in a single Oyster card bus journey to £1.
The new pricing scheme does include some fare reductions aimed at encouraging commuters to travel off- peak after 0930 and before 1600. Read Full Article

Mayor's Freedom Pass questioned |

Critics of London Mayor Boris Johnson say his election campaign pledge to expand the Freedom Pass for elderly transport users is not as promised.
Mr Johnson's Liberal Democrat opposition say the passes, also available to disabled people, are still restricted on Network Rail's trains.
Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon said the scheme was also likely to cost local boroughs millions of pounds.
