Your concessionary travel pass will be issued by the authority who administers you local concessionary travel scheme. If you currently have a bus pass, your national pass will be issued by the same authority that issues you present pass.

The national concession means that from April 2008 people in England aged 60 or over, or eligible disabled, will be able to enjoy free off-peak travel on local bus services anywhere in England. However under the new arrangements concessionary travel schemes will continue to be administered by Travel Concession Authorities (TCAs) just as they are at present.

Outside the major cities TCAs are shire district councils and non-metropolitan unitary authorities. In the metropolitan areas - the West Midlands, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Tyne and Wear - Passenger Transport Executives (PTEs) administer the concessionary fares schemes. In London, the scheme is administered by the London Boroughs.

A full list of TCAs is on the link at the top of this page with a link to their homepage. If you are unsure about how you will get your pass, your local TCA should be able to provide you with more information.
