Stagecoach Cumbria route 555. Lancaster-Keswick via Carnforth, Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. Every hour taking about 2 1/2 hours. Certain trips connect at Keswick with another bus on route 554 to Carlisle for the really ambitious! Fantastic ride on a double decker through the Lake District and over a mountain pass. Difficult to top this one!

Footnote: We have been told that during the school summer holidays this route will run every half an hour but only from KENDAL not from LANCASTER, it is still only hourly from LANCASTER
